I need an adult
So I guess I'm signing off on a house on Monday. This makes me feel a little old. Or: "rocketing into middle age," if you want to put it that way. As the comic mentions, though, I also feel like a kid entrusted with something far beyond his maturity level. For instance, I have to get a cashier's check on Monday from the bank, and take it into the lenders to sign off on a bunch of stuff. I'm really not thinking about the huge step (personally, financially, legally) this is, or how much time or money is represented with a piece of paper, or anything I should really be concerned with.
No, I'm thinking about Guybrush Threepwood. In the adventure game, "The Curse of Monkey Island." Where one of the puzzle items he ends up getting is a "Lot O' Money" as a result of turning in his own death certificate. And wishing I could just slap down a huge pile of doubloons instead of a silly piece of paper.
