Coniferous, Onerous, Cous-cous, Bulbous...
Tonight was game night with my family. We played a pretty random board game, of which one of the tasks it had us performing (among singing, yodeling, and sitting under the table) was to go around the table thinking of words that end in "-ous." The round ended before it even got to me, which was a pretty big disappointment, considering I had about seven words queued up.
I've been off my language game since somebody corrected me on "fricative," as opposed to my mistaken pronunciation of "frictive." Just a little 'a,' but enough to tinct my confidence with doubt. Tonight, playing a silly game, I might just have it back. Maybe it was having to sit under a table for a round.
Pompous, heinous, lascivious, circuitous, frabjous...
